Terms & Conditions

Pricing & Fees

  • All quoted prices include applicable tolls and standard fees.

  • Payment surcharges:

    • Credit Card: 1.6%

    • Tap & Go (POS): 1.9%
      Surcharges are added prior to booking confirmation.

  • Please refer to our Price List for common routes and sample fares.


Child Safety Seats

  • Complimentary infant seats, capsules, and booster seats compliant with AS/NZS 1754 are available upon request.

  • Under Queensland law, approved child restraints are mandatory for children up to 7 years of age.

  • Failure to request a child seat at the time of booking may prevent us from completing the transfer.


Cairns Airport Arrivals

  • Domestic Terminal: Meet your driver at the luggage carousel 10–15 minutes after landing.

  • International Terminal: Meet your driver in the arrivals hall approximately 20 minutes after landing (following customs and immigration clearance).

  • If your flight is delayed, please contact your driver or our office. Extended delays may incur additional charges or impact service availability.


Departures

  • Cairns Airport:

    • Domestic flights: arrive 1.5–2 hours before departure

    • International flights: arrive 2–3 hours before departure

  • Marina / Cruise / Train Services: Arrive at least 1 hour before boarding.

  • Pickup times include recommended travel and buffer time. GSS Transportation is not liable for missed onward connections.


Early Arrivals

If you arrive earlier than your scheduled pickup time, we may be unable to meet you due to prior bookings. Please contact our office to coordinate where possible.


Delays & Booking Changes

  • We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate delays to flights, trains, or cruises; however, this cannot be guaranteed.

  • Charges may apply for no-shows or unnotified booking changes.

  • Please notify us of any flight number changes to avoid additional fees.


Extra Stops

  • Quoted fares apply to direct transfers only.

  • Additional stops must be pre-arranged and are charged at $30 per 15 minutes of waiting time.


Route Changes During Travel

Once travel has commenced, drivers are unable to change routes or add stops unless these were pre-booked in advance.


Cancellations

  • Free cancellation up to 24 hours before scheduled pickup.

  • Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows will be charged in full.

  • We strongly recommend travel insurance.


Vehicle Cleanliness

  • No food or drink is permitted in vehicles, except water in a sealed bottle.

  • A $250 cleaning fee applies for spills or messes that render the vehicle unusable.


Third-Party Transfers

In certain situations, your booking may be transferred to another approved and registered operator. The confirmed price will remain unchanged.


Alternate Route Charges

  • Travel between Cairns and Port Douglas is normally via the Captain Cook Highway (approx. 1.25–1.5 hours).

  • If unavailable due to weather, roadworks, or closures, an alternate inland route (approx. 2.5–3 hours) may be used and additional charges may apply.


Holiday Closure

Seasonal closure dates will be published on our website and contact page. Bookings are unavailable on announced closure dates.
